Being the lone autoethnographer at your institution, department or in your geographical area can be difficult on many levels. Most of us enjoy meeting others who can listen and give feedback, or lend support and give encouragement. Having regular contact with colleagues who understand the genre can also be challenging, inspiring, as well as providing a unique community.
As the ICAE community has grown in number we felt the need to support the development and maintenance of local groups who might provide continuity and regular contact in between our major conference gatherings.
To this end Jamie Barnes, one of the forefounders of the International Conference of Autoethnography, has agreed to take responsibility for the regional group networks.
If you would like to connect with other autoethnographers, or create a group in your area and would like our support and encouragement, please contact Jamie Barnes: Jamie.Barnes@sussex.ac.uk. We’d love to hear from you.
